Fascinated with the subconscious, my work is about revealing myself and the unworldly wanderings of my mind. I encourage the viewer to engage with my associations and wherever else their imagination is willing to take them.

Juxtaposed against disorganized instinctive drives and impulses of the subconscious, the ego represents the rational and organized aspects of my personality. Unconscious desires and concerns need a mechanism to break through repression. I attempt to overcome my ego by experimenting with shapes, patterns, colours, tones and lines that simply begin to flow together. Each work becomes a harmonious collective of elements combining my ego and subconscious, generally resulting in final composition of randomness yet a curious order begins to show itself.

My work is a personal and idiosyncratic manifestation of my wandering mind. I aim to achieve a more internalized, sublime vision of the universe and of life. Viewers are invited to eavesdrop on the wanderings I have undertaken, culminating in each completed work I make.

'the great jar of gratefulness'

 'The Great Jar of Gratefulness'

I recently had my first solo show 'We Are All At Risk Of Becoming Potatoes'.
I included an interactive work where viewers were encouraged to take a moment to write down one thing they were grateful for in their life and place it inside a glass jar which was placed in the centre of the gallery space. I now have hundreds of all these cards with beautiful things written on them, there all so lovely! I especially love looking at the difference in everyone's handwriting. My plan is to burn all the cards and mix the ash with a liquid binding medium. I then want to paint a picture with it where everyone's gratefulness can be meshed together on paper in one big happy and grateful picture...
